Wintry weather didn’t deter 82 intrepid students from a Hunstanton school who braved the elements on a three-day outdoor adventure trip. The Year 7 and 8 students from Smithdon High School, a member of the West Norfolk Academies Trust, travelled to Norfolk Lakes, an outdoor adventure centre in Lyng, near Norwich.

The achievements of students at a King’s Lynn secondary school have been celebrated at a special presentation evening held in their honour. More than 100 Year 11 graduate students at Springwood High School, a member of the West Norfolk Academies Trust, were joined by 280 relatives and friends in the school’s Peter Hopkins Hall for the event which saw a host of certificates and prizes awarded. A former student at a North Shields secondary school is performing 10,000 pull-ups to raise money for charity. Sam Craggs graduated last year from St Thomas More Catholic High School, a member of the Bishop Bewick Academies Trust, and is undertaking the feat to raise funds for the John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation. A school cook who hung up her apron to become a carer is celebrating two years in her role – and says she is enjoying every moment of it. Kerry Williams, who lives in North Walsham, joined the Broadland office of award-winning home care company Extra Hands in February 2021, when the pandemic saw her previous job become increasingly stressful and isolated. |
