A student who spoke no English when she arrived at a Wisbech school two years ago is among those celebrating today as the Thomas Clarkson Academy reveals its best ever GCSE results. The academy, a member of the Brooke Weston Trust, was buzzing when students returned to collect their all-important envelopes containing the results of their exams after completing the first uninterrupted school year since they were in Year 8.

Staff at a Banstead school were celebrating their students’ successes today - with many heading to university and one accepted to join Oxford - a first for the school. Students at The Beacon School, a member of the GLF Trust, were all applauded by staff for their resilience and determination after a difficult last couple of years with their education due to the pandemic. There were celebrations all round as sixth formers who had struggled to continue their studies through the pandemic were rewarded for their efforts with outstanding A Level grades. The students at St Benet Biscop Catholic Academy, Bedlington, which is a member of the Bishop Bewick Catholic Education Trust, achieved what the school described as ‘superb results’ having weathered ‘a very challenging and disrupted two years’. The head of a Wisbech sixth form says she is ‘inspired’ by her students who collected an impressive set of A Level results this morning. With pupils heading to a raft of universities around the country to study everything from maths to law and drama, there were celebrations at Thomas Clarkson Academy, a member of the Brooke Weston Trust. Students in Croydon were celebrating their school’s best ever GCSE results, with what Meridian High School, a member of GLF Schools, called its highest percentage of ‘strong passes’.
There were celebrations at an Oxford school this morning when its first ever exam results were collected by Year 11 students. The Aureus school, a member of GLF Schools, first opened its doors in 2017, and those first students have completed their time with an impressive array of grades from their GCSEs. Students at Three Rivers Academy are celebrating successful exam results after a turbulent time when their studies were interrupted due to covid.
